Showers of mercy
on Washington !!!

July 13th
Kirtan was led by Mahashakti Prabhu at Narottama Prabhus
residence which was followed by an ecstatic kirtan by Guru Maharaj. Later
Guru Maharaj spoke on verse 5 of chapter 18 of the Bhagavad Gita.
After the lecture, while having prasadam, Guru Maharaj
asked me to return to the temple as he had an urgent letter to dictate.
Even though he was tired, he did not want to rest even for a minute. Fortunately,
he was later convinced to rest for a while as the drive to the evening
program was a long one!
We left in Srestha Prabhus van for Dr. Suryakant
Patels residence which was about 2 hours drive from the temple.
Guru Maharaj took this opportunity to dictate the urgent letter to me.
Guru Maharaj entered Dr. Patels residence
while the aarti was going on in the beautiful temple there. After the
kirtan, Guru Maharaj spoke about how Krishna Consciousness is the Supreme
preventive medicine!! Many doctors were present in the audience listening
attentively to the powerful lecture. It was around midnight when Guru
Maharaj left for the temple.

July 14th
Narottama Prabhu took the Bhagavatam class which was
followed by kirtan by Nrsimha Caitanya Prabhu.
The initiation of aspiring disciples was about to commence.
As always, before giving initiation to the candidates, Guru Maharaj explained
in detail the meaning of initiation and the importance of accepting a
bonafide spiritual master. He emphasized the need to avoid the ten offences
while chanting the holy names of the Lord. The audience heard the lecture
with rapt attention.
After the initiation, we quickly left for Rohit Srivastavs
residence for the
afternoon program. Guru Maharaj led an ecstatic kirtan followed by a lecture
on how Krishna Consciousness is a way of life! On the way back to the
temple, Guru Maharaj took us to visit Dr. Samtanis residence where
he encouraged the whole family to increase their chanting.
By now, Guru Maharaj was really tired and needed to
rest but as usual, he was busy encouraging disciples, attending to phone
calls and in between, giving me dictation. And the nectar continued .

Gita devi dasi
